About the Japanese Scandinavian Radiological Society (JSRS)

The Japanese Scandinavian Radiological Society (JSRS) is a professional organization dedicated to fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation in the field of radiology between Japan and Scandinavia. Through biannual symposia, research partnerships, and professional development initiatives, JSRS connects radiologists, researchers, and medical professionals across borders.

Founded in 1985, JSRS was created to enhance scientific cooperation between two distinct medical communities, allowing experts to share insights, exchange cutting-edge research, and develop new approaches to medical imaging. Today, JSRS continues to serve as a vital platform for academic exchange, technological advancement, and professional networking in radiology.

Our Mission & Activities

At JSRS, our primary goals are:

Biannual Symposia & Scientific Exchange

JSRS hosts biennial scientific symposia, alternating between Japan and Scandinavia, where experts present the latest advancements in oncological imaging, interventional radiology, and artificial intelligence in radiology. These events offer a unique opportunity for radiologists to engage in cross-cultural learning and professional networking.

Since 1993, our meetings have been held in collaboration with the Nordic Japan PACS Symposium, further strengthening the exchange of knowledge on radiology informatics and imaging systems.
